HIDE out of date year-end-copy transfers

I see a lot of people reporting year-end-copy is not removing legacy transactions. I had the same problem, with transactions from 20 years ago not removing. Finally i realized these were ALL transfers. For some reason transfers are not removed.

When I opened my register, after requesting only transactions after 1/1/2022, I expected to see the first transaction being 1/1/2022 with a BALANCE FORWARD.

I would suggest that the year-end-copy should HIDE if it cannot remove the transfers, then enter a BALANCE FORWARD with a memo containing the BACKUP file name.

I just tested this again and transfers are removed by the Year End Copy (YEC) process. I wrote the Quicken for Windows section of the YEC FAQ, so I am very familiar with the process.

With transfers, both ends of the transfer have to be reconciled, "R". If either end is not reconciled, both ends are kept.

With transfers to investment accounts, you have to make sure that the transactions are in a reconciled, "R", state.
