My current Windows PC is on life support. I am currently running Quicken Classic. I have the data files backed up but I will need to 'move' my program file to the new computer. I have been unable to find any info on any 'official' Quicken site. HELP! Please.😬

Simply install Quicken if you don't use a data copy routine from your old computer to the new computer. Copy your latest backup data file to your C: drive Documents folder in the Quicken path. At this point, I usually rename it to qdata.qdf, but that is up to you. Run Quicken and open the file if it doesn't automatically open for you.

It's actually a pretty easy thing to do. You do not need to move the program file. Instead, go to this Support Article: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-do-i-download-quicken-quickencom-after-i-buy-it .

There you will find simple step-by-step instructions and can download/install a fresh copy of Quicken to your new computer. Click on the appropriate "Download" button. During installation, when prompted, select that you want to reinstall Quicken (not do a new install) and then follow the prompts to install, login with your Quicken ID and PW and to link your current data file to the new installation.

If you have questions regarding how to move your current QDF data file to the new computer, you might want to review this Support Article: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-do-i-move-my-quicken-data-file-one-computer-another#section-3 .
