"Show Splits" checkbox in reports will not turn off (when I uncheck it, it comes back)

I'm using Quicken Deluxe version R52.28 Windows 11 home. "Show Splits" checkbox in reports will not turn off (when I uncheck it, it comes back.) For example, I want to run a report of transactions to a particular payee and which only include a certain word in the memo field. The resulting report lists all of the transactions to that payee including those that do not contain that selected word in the memo field. When I review the Display settings I see that the "Show Splits" box is checked, and when I try to uncheck it and click OK, the report still comes back with splits and the "Show splits" box is checked again. This has been happening I think for about a month or two. Thanks!
