Problem with Chase and quicken and now American Express as well

I was having a real problem downloading transactions on quicken with chase. Today I went through and reactivated all of my accounts. My problem is I have 2 different sign user id's with chase. When I try to set up both of these sign ins (one for my husband and one for myself) it will no longer download any transactions. Quicken says that with the new chase program, chase does not allow a person to have 2 different sign ins with the same bank in one quicken file. I find this hard to believe. I called chase and they say that is not true and that chase does not have anything to do with this. I am going around in circles. After reactivating my accounts I can no longer sign into American Express with quicken as of today. It says sorry try again later to I can't even set up my american express accounts online. Any thoughts and if not is there another software I can switch to that can handle all of my accounts.

What is the error code when Quicken can't download for Chase?

(I think American Express is a whole different problem).

  • quicken support helped me with american express. I had to reauthenticate american express and I had to remove the bank name and account number before connecting it to american express.

I have the same problem with extracting data from Chase, a month ago it was seamless now I can't get a digit out of them. That on top of all the log on problems has just about convinced me to bail.

The best recovery flow I have is, if the Reset or their suggested fix doesn't work:

Deactivate all Chase accounts for downloading transactions. Clear out the financial institution name on all the accounts in the Account Details. Use "Add Account" instead of trying to just reactive them from the Online Services tab. Go through the setup using "Chase" (or the Chase icon), reauthorize them through the Chase website and then VERY carefully make sure each online account is linked to the correct one in Quicken. Note that Quicken picks the wrong Quicken accounts at least 50% of the time. The "nick name" that is greyed out is the one selected to be linked in Quicken.

To give a bit of background of why all, and clearing out the financial name, and using Add Account. The "all" part just makes sure that you get all of the problems at once. The clearing out of financial name ensures that it will have to get it from the new setup. If you try to reactivate from the Online Services tab Quicken tries to use that financial name to select it and bypass that dialog in the setup flow. Removing it and using the Add Account ensures that you are presented with the dialogs that ask you which financial institution you want.
