Quicken Mac: manually update investment accounts, automatically update band and CC accounts
Due to security concerns, I prefer to download transactions from my investment institution and load them manually. However, I do want to use Quicken's automatic update capability for banking and credit card accounts.
How do I exclude investment accounts from the automatic update procedure, but still allow me to update them manually. Today, Quicken asks me for the account credentials for each of the investment accounts, and I'm wanting to avoid toggling through the pop-ups and pressing cancel on each one.
TIA

For the investment accounts you do not want to have update automatically, open the Settings for each account, click on the Downloads tab, and click the button to Disconnect Account. This will prevent them from connecting and downloading transactions and you'll now need to enter transactions manually for these accounts.
(It wasn't clear from your wording, but are you wanting to enter transactions manually, or download a .qfx file from your financial institution and then import that into Quicken? Importing a .qfx file is considered "downloading" by Quicken — it's called the "Web Connect" connection type — even though you have manually downloaded a file and are now importing it into Quicken. If your financial institution supports Web Connect, you can go to Account Settings > Downloads and click Change Connection.)

To set up Web Connect you'll have to disconnect the account first, then import the QFX file for the account. The first time you import the file for a particular account you'll have to indicate which Quicken account the file should be imported to, after that it will automatically go to the right account.

Sorry if the description of my use case wasn't clear… due to security concerns, for my investment accounts, I prefer to log into the institution, download a quicken file with transactions, then "drag and drop" them into Quicken (for Mac). For banking and Credit Card accounts, I'm fine to have them auto update using the standard Quicken update function.
My concern with disconnecting the investment accounts is I will lose the account number information that is needed to allow me to "drag and drop" the transaction files.
On Quicken for Windows, there was the ability to specify which accounts get updated when the automatic update function was invoked. Does the Mac have such capability?
In summary, I'd like to have the auto update process update banking and CC accounts, ignore the investment accounts, while maintaining account information for the investment accounts such that I can "drag and drop" quicken files I've downloaded from financial institutions. And I don't want Quicken to ask me for credentials for the investment accounts every time I do an auto update to refresh CC and banking accounts.

Thank you, good to know.
When I try to change to connection method, for my institution, Quicken only offers two choices: 1) Quicken Connect and 2) Direct Connect. I was hoping Web Connect would be an available option, but it isn't.
Does anyone know how to setup a brokerage account for Web Connect to Vanguard?
