Recent Quicken purchase & Reconcile back to 2017 ? (edit)

I recently purchased Quicken and transferred data back to 2017. Do you recommend reconciling back to then or should I choose a more recent timeframe?

I'm not exactly sure where you got the data back to 2017 that you "transferred." The "recently purchased" statement suggests you're new to Quicken so maybe you you used it in the past, stopped using it for a while, and then picked it up again, using an old Quicken file that you had? If that's the case then you'd have a pretty large gap between old data and new data, so in that case I'd say start doing current reconciliations, accepting the inevitable "plug" that would come with the 1st reconciliation, and move forward.
