Bad data file
I cannot download my account information from only one account at one bank. Tech support did everything they could, supervalidate etc, but nothing worked. They then created a new data file and that did work. In this new file nothing is categorized. Working with a new data file is a tremendous burden. They claim that nothing can be done to fix the original file. I don't believe that. I'm sure that the development and QA teams must have the tools to find and fix a broken data file. What do you think.

Hi Rocket J Squirrel and Chris_QPW,
It's very interesting that you both responded with exactly the same response.
Do you know each other?
Are you both reading from the same script?

I would suggest you try this:
File → Copy or Backup File → Create a copy or template
See if you can setup all your online accounts there and if they work.
As for convincing Quicken Inc to take your data file in and fix it, not going to happen.
The only time I have ever seen that was with my data file, and the only reason was because something they did in a release corrupted many users' data file and they were keen on finding out what the problem was. So, when I volunteered my data file, they did use it for that purpose and returned me a fixed version. That took them several days of work with even the CEO pitching in to test.
If your data file is totally corrupted and a new data file is the only way to go, and you can still export a QIF file from it, this is what I suggest:
