Why can't I sell shares in a cash reserve account ?

I have a cash reserve account that has shares in it. I entered a transaction to sell shares and have the proceeds go to a mutual fund account. The original account showed the balance decreased but the money does not show in the receiving mutual fund account

Where did the money go?

Thanks

Nancy

Please explain what a "cash reserve account" is.

What is the exact Q transaction that you used for the sale? If you could post a graphic it would be helpful.

It is an account that accepts credit for money generated by credit for miles earned by using a crdit card. I enter the $ amount and indicate that it is $1 per share when money is added to the account. I also am able to transfer money out of the account to my checking account at another institution The balance shows as shares.

In this transaction, I entered a sell, at $1 per share and indicated another mutual fund as the account where the cash was to be creditied. It showed that the shares/cash was removed from the account but it doesn't show up in the receiving account
