Using a backup from the cloud

My wife inputs our data into her computer. I copy her data file onto a thumb drive and input it into my computer for analysis. Can she just back up to the cloud and then I access it from the cloud?

Yes. You just can't have the program access the data file on the "cloud" server. You will have to download it to your local drive first.

Simply think of "cloud service" as the same as the thumb drive. Which "cloud service"?

That is up to you, examples: OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, …

She copies your Quicken Desktop data file (.QDF file) to one of these, and then you copy it down to your machine and open it. If you are going to make changes, then you would reverse the process.

Note I recommend a Windows File Copy, not a backup (From Quicken) and then a restore on your side, because of some of the extra things that a restore does that don't work well if you do this often. A straight Windows File copy works best.

Also, if you are going to make any changes, make sure only one of you are making changes at a time.
