I had reconciled our checking account. Everything was up to date. I went back on it and the balance is thousands of dollars off. What happened? I can't reconcile anymore because the balance is completely off. how to repair this? Not sure what I did for that to happen.

Did you recently Reset, Deactivate/Reactivate or Reauthorize your account connection?

    If so, check the following:

    1. Did Opening Balance transaction dollar amount get changed? You might need to restore an old backup file to see what the dollar amount should be an then compare that to what is shown in your main data file. If the two numbers do not match, correct the figure in your main data file to match what you found in the backup file. Once you have confirmed that the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount is correct, also enter/save it into the Memo field (for an easy fix if the Opening Balance should ever get changed in the future).
    2. If the account balance is still not correct: Start scrolling backward in the register from today's date looking for duplicate transactions. Should you find any, decide which one you want to keep and which one you will delete. If there are any duplicates entered it will likely happen within the last 90 days or so.
    3. If the account balance is still not correct: Search your account register for a 2nd Opening Balance transaction with a different date and dollar amount. It should be easy to determine that it is not the right Opening Balance transaction because it will not have a dollar amount entered into the Memo field. If you find one, delete it.

Another thing to check: Click on the Date column header to make sure the transactions are sorted in the correct date order.

Did any of this resolve the issue for you?
