Can we pay our credit card bills through quickpay for Chase or USAA?
Or is that still a broken process between Quicken and those 3rd Party Banking Systems.
Yes, another option is to set up account(s) with a bank that supports DC Bank Bill Pay. That is a very nice service and one which I have used for many years.
You should be aware that some banks with DC Bank Bill Pay have dropped DC entirely and have replaced it with EWC+ which does not support Bank Bill pay. But some banks have retained DC Bank Bill Pay even after they have cut in EWC+. Two banks that have cut in EWC+ but retained DC Bank Bill Pay are Wells Fargo and PNC Bank (I use both).
Also, note that some banks will charge for DC and some banks (like PNC) have unique login requirements for DC. You will need to make inquiry with them regarding that. (PNC Bank does not charge consumers any fee for DC but I think they do charge businesses $2/month for DC. Wells Fargo does not charge anyone for DC.)
The following link will take you to a Support Article that lists banks that support DC Bank Bill Pay: https://www.quicken.com/support/list-banks-support-bank-bill-pay-quicken.
If your bank (the one that runs your checking account) recently required you to reauthorize your checking account and/or your bank has changed from "Direct Connect" to either "Express Web Connect" or "Express Web Connect+" you can no longer use Online Bill Pay direct to the bank or Quicken Bill Manager's Quick Pay function. The bank no longer supports this function through Quicken.
IMHO, you have these alternatives (in no particular order of preference):
I've been using method #3 for decades, since before the Internet and transaction download capabilities were even introduced. It's easy to get used to this process. And I have yet to miss a single payment.
would another option be to look for a banking system that uses direct connect and use them as a method to perform bill pay activities.
