Delete banking account after balance is zero

Options

I have a banking account. I Transferred all of it to another account. In the old account, the balance is zero and the last transaction, Transfer, is not reconciled. Can I delete the account? If I delete the account will it effect balance of other

account?

I wouldn't "delete" the account as that will result in an imbalance in your categories and any transfers between accounts that you made. Instead, navigate to Edit account details (Ctrl-Shift-E) > Display Options tab > Close Account.

If you delete the account, the transactions that were transfers will cause the transactions in the "mating" account to now show "deleted account" in the category. It won't affect the balances in those accounts, you just won't know where the funds came from/went to.

I would just hide the account.
