Cloud Sync still happening even if Sync is off.

I have had Sync turned off because of another issue. Yet when I restore a backup the little circle flashes for some time followed by the Cloud/Sync screen. How do I make this go away ?

As I understand it, doing a Restore of a backup forces an initial sync process.

There's two ways of stopping this, I believe.

The first way is to not RESTORE a backup but, instead, use File Explorer to navigate to the backup file and edit the file extension to remove the "-backup" element, leaving you with a file with the standard .QDF file extension. (While you're there, you may wish to also edit the file name slightly just so you can distinguish it from your current "live" file.) Then using File Explorer copy the file and paste it into your live file directory.

Another approach is to create a new Quicken file, a file with nothing in it, and has sync/mobile enabled. Open that file and use it to delete the "Cloud" data file of your live file. You should then be able to restore a backup of your live file without the sync taking place.
