deleting a stock in Security list

Member ✭✭✭✭

When I go to Tools/Security List, all the stocks listed have the delete button disabled - the indexes do not. How can I delete some of the stocks in the list - there are ones in there from years ago that no longer exist (RedHat, Bea Systems, etc etc.) that I want to clear out?

You can only delete securities that have no transactions. Generally you want to keep the old transactions for historical reference.

Unless you have thousands of securities, you may find it better to hide ones you are no longer using.
