Restore problem - invalid update after restore (Quicken Classic)

New PC - Restore from Backup okay. The data is correct for a few brief moments and then something automatically updates and then all accounts are wrong. I have tried deleting cloud data thinking that could be the problem, but the issue was not resolved. Anyone know what is happening and how to stop it from updating my data after RESTORE?

Please read this and let me know if this clears up the mystery.

I'm going to also add my suggestion on how to fix your exact problem. Note that if you are using Sync to Mobile/Web of Quicken Bill Payee and maybe other online services (but not Downloading of Transactions) you might have to set them up again.

Create a new data file, with Sync to Mobile/Web on.

Go into Edit → Preferences → Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts → Cloud accounts associated with this Quicken ID (x)

From there you can delete the Quicken Cloud dataset of the original data file. Now if you close Quicken, and then double click on the *.QDF-backup file you can restore that and not have a Quicken Cloud dataset to cause any kind of "sync problem", which seems to be what you are seeing.

I did delete the old cloud data. Performed the restore again. Same behavior, the accounts look good for a few seconds, and then something runs in background and applies updates to all accounts. I have Auto Update turned off, but it must be some other automatic "feature" that is updating my accounts after a restore. Any idea how to stop that?

I don't know, that should have done it.
