Just ran a file validate and when done no report was displayed. File > Validate and Repair File > Validate and Repair Log button does not produce a report either.

Windows 11 R54.16

    It's a "log", not a "report".

The file you seek is %AppData%\Quicken\Log\DATA_LOG.TXT. I can't tell you why QWin isn't presenting it to you, but you should be able to open it manually if needed.

No data log file in %AppData%\Quicken\Log\DATA_LOG.TXT or anywhere else that I looked.

That's strange. Do you have anything in the folder %AppData%\Quicken\Log? Does that folder exist?

Note to open the Validate log you can also select:

File → Validate and Repair → Validate & Repair Log (button)

Only found the folder %AppData%, but nothing in it on Quicken. The button does not work.

Make sure you have set Windows File Explorer to show hidden folders since %AppData% is a hidden folder.

I think it is impossible for you to have a running Quicken without at least the Quicken folder in that folder:

Note Windows Key + r, and putting in should take you to it:

Used the search command in Windows File Explorer to find %AppData%, which I did. No quicken folders in it. Just a FYI, this is on new install of Quicken on my laptop this was the first time running validate on this machine.

Using search in Windows File Explorer will not find the folder. It doesn't expand the environment variables. %AppData% is an environment variable. On the other hand, if you put %AppData% in the main text box it will find it. Provided that you have selected to view hidden items:

    For instance, this is mine:

    C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming

Change to your username would be here. If you have actually got to this path and seen lots of folders but not Quicken, then something on your system is blocking Quicken from creating the folders it needs and as such Quicken will not perform correctly.

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming is where applications store user level settings.
