How to show proceeds from an investment sale

I have two accounts: (1) a Vanguard investment account; and (2) an operational checking account. What's the best way to show the shares sold from the investment account and income in to the checking account? It seems like there would be two transactions, but not sure. Thanks,

Are the proceeds of the sale automatically transferred to your checking account? If so, when you enter the sale in Quicken, you can select the receiving account under Record proceeds, like this

This will show in your transaction list as a SoldX transaction.

If there is a second transaction that sends the proceeds to your checking account, you would pick To this account's cash balance and enter a separate XOut to move the cash. That is more likely how Vanguard will download the transactions.
