Filter- Transaction Balance.
It show the number of transaction, but not the balance.

Before I move quicken to a new laptop it showed my balance. How do I fix this?

Some programmer may have made a change without announcing it in the Release Notes. Or it may be an issue with the register window width. The total amount may not show if the window is too narrow.
However, if you look at the Balance column in your register, it shows the running total of all selected transactions, with the Total Amount being the balance in the bottom transaction.

@raycox4385 - if you highlight the items, the total will show.

Just a note, this hasn't changed, you have always had to select transactions to see the amount there, that is its whole purpose. There isn't any reason to show the balance there when nothing is selected since you can just look at the "Current Balance/Ending Balance".
