Mouse wheel Scroll Interrupted by Pop-Up Info
This has been annoying for a long time and I'm finally posting to see if they're a solution.
When I scroll in a register or report using a scroll wheel, if the mouse curser is over any transaction where the text extends past the end of it's cell, an animated window appears to display the full text of that cell in the transaction. That's nice to have except when ever it happens, all scrolling freezes until that pop-up fades out. I tried turning off animations but it didn't help. The hover-over pop ups are still there delaying my attempts to scroll.
I have a trackball with a scroll wheel but I assume it would be the same for any mouse's scroll wheel.
Any suggested solutions to this?

I believe you mean something like this?
Well, with my Logitech mouse (just using the default Microsoft driver), it doesn't stop me from scrolling, it immediately cancels the popup text and then scrolls.

interesting - mine doesn't do the pop-up at all - -
the only way to see the full cell is click in it - and it just opens - but doesn't show entire text1 -
Chris_QPW,
That is exactly what I mean by the popups (not sure what they are really called). For me the scrolling halts until that pop-up fades away. I'm using a Kensington Expert Mouse (trackball). The driver is from Kensington (2.1.3.99 from 2019). I tried updating it by installing the Kensington Works app which updated the driver to 2.3.9.0 from 2023 but I'm having the same problem. Maybe it's a video driver issue.
In the meantime, is there a way to turn off those information pop-ups? Seems that Ps56k2 doesn't have them.

Those "hints/popups" are somewhat flaky and as such some people don't see them, and for others they don't stay up long enough to read, …
There isn't any setting I know of that can turn them off.

I don't experience that behavior with a Logitech Bluetooth mouse and never have with any of the devices I've used over the years. For the first troubleshooting step, I'd try connecting another pointing device with a different driver to see if you get the same behavior.

Good idea. I've got a few I can try.
