I have an old 2007 macbook pro running os 10.13, the last os that was a compatible update. I have been running Quicken since the early 90's without missing a beat. It is finally time to upgrade to the latest macbook running 0s14.

Is it possible to transfer data without losing anything and will the the transfer be compatible with the Latest Quicken Deluxe? Thanks in advance.

To give a complete answer, we need to understand what version of Quicken you're currently running on the old computer: the very old Quicken 2007 or Quicken Mac version 5.18.x from 2020?

The short answer is yes, you will be able to move your data file to the new Mac, and it will be converted or updated to work with the current Quicken Mac.

Will Quicken for Mac 2015, version 2.9.7 work with Mac OS Sonoma? It currently works with Mac OS Monterey on my 2018 MacBook Pro.

I run Sonoma, and I have an old copy of Quicken 2015 on my computer, and what I can tell you is that it launches and seems to function correctly. But I haven't used it for real work for many years, so I can't vouch for it 100%. If it's working for you fine on Monterey, I'm not aware of any showstopper issues you'd encounter with Sonoma.

I'm not out to drive sales for Quicken, but I feel I really should to mention that the program has progressed an immense amount since 2015. The basic registers look pretty much the same, but everything from basic transaction processing (QuickFill rules, which are useful even for those of us who enter transactions manually), to reconciling, to reports (which have been completely overhauled), to budgets (which only existed in minimal form), to loans (which didn't exist), to insights into your data, and much more has improved over the past 8+ years. If you're sure Quicken 2015 meets your needs completely, then great — keep on using it until some Apple update breaks it. But if you're interested in taking a peek at how the current version works to see if you might find it useful, you can buy a subscription, run the new version with an imported copy of your current data (without affecting your ability to continue to run Quicken 2015), and you can get a refund within 30 days of purchase if you determine the current version doesn't offer enough to draw you into the annual subscriptions of the current and future versions. 😀
