Turning on/off Pending Transactions
I have version 55.12 of Quicken Classic Deluxe. As it stands, it takes me DAYS to reconcile my account because of the pending transactions that keep it from matching. I do NOT want them included, but I see nowhere to turn them on or off. I've looked in the community and every one of the posts is from a couple years ago and talks about "an hourglass". There is NO hourglass anywhere!!!! I also saw someone mention a "tab" at the bottom along side the "downloaded transactions" and the "Bill reminder" that supposedly says "Pending" but I don't see that either! Did they do away with this option or what?

you may need to call Support. What financial insitution? It's my understanding that the financial institutions are not supposed to transmit the pending transactions. If they are, that is the issue and THEY are the ones who need to adjust their process.

Note that the "show pending transactions" feature was tried a couple of times and was removed each time a few days later because it didn't work right. As @Mark1104 said the financial institution shouldn't be sending pending transactions in the download transactions or the online balance.

On my version of Quicken Classic Business & Personal (Windows, R55.15) you can individually turn accounts on or off through the menu at Edit>Preferences and choose "Pending transactions" from the list on the left of the box that pops up. Toggle pending transactions on, then go to Account Settings and a list of accounts that you can individually turn on and off pops up. Hope that helps you. Good luck.

Are you sure you aren't on R55.26? I see they are making taking another stab at it.

I see in another thread another person is saying that pending transactions are now in R55.15 which means something was changed on the servers that turned this on. Given that they didn't the official announcement for this in R55.26 I think it might be wise to upgrade to R55.26 before trying to use pending transactions.

When I try to choose pending for FIs, I only get the option to choose pending transactions, but pending balance is grayed out. I am not sure why that is?
EDIT - I figured out why they are grayed out. If you don't automatically accept transactions into your register, the option to include pending balances is not available.

@QuickUserPSP That's strange. Not something I would have guessed would happen.

BTW if you have this on and have pending transactions you can select the "i" icon at the bottom of the register to show this:

I turned off automatic transaction entry mode and now I see why you can't select to show the balances, pending transactions aren't in the register in that mode, they are in a tab below the register.
In automatic transaction entry mode:

@Chris_QPW that is pretty cool. Thanks for showing how the pending transactions differ with the two download methods.

BTW just noticed this:
I can edit the date, payee, category and amount. I'm not sure how that will play out when the posted transaction comes through.
I think I remember from the last attempts that it is just thrown away (you can't "pre-fix" a category for instance, and have it pass to the posted transaction).

Well, I tried editing a pending transaction for its category since it was blank (on purpose it is for Amazon and as such I set that payee not to be categorized because it can be several different ones, and I just fix it after the download), and was surprised to see that the pending transaction changed to a "manually entered/not cleared" transaction. This is definitely different than what would happen the last time they tried to put in the pending transactions feature. But to me that makes sense, if you are editing it you are basically confirming that you believe that the transaction will be downloaded.
