How does someone end up with a Quicken file size of 240 MB or much larger? (I hope this is a good a subforum as any to post this question.)

As a participant in the beta forum, I've seen comments about people's file sizes. I thought that my file was big at 66 MB, because it goes back to 2016 and includes about 30 different accounts, including closed credit cards, etc.

Been using Quicken (and TurboTax) since DOS days in 1990s.

240MB isn't "really" big, but when you see a really big one you can bet it is because they are storing attachments in it.

Mine doesn't have any attachments, goes back to 1996 and is currently 170MB.

If you want to learn a little more about the interior bits and pieces of your Quicken data file, look at what I just discovered (in my R 55.26):

Click Help / Shift-click About Quicken.
Now look for and click the More info… link at the lower right.
Be patient for a few seconds and wait for the next view to pop up …

    Wow!
