Payee is not memorized, but when I go to create the payee again, it says that it's a duplicate?

Quicken Classic Deluxe

I just started paying through Quicken. I created a check payee. Put in the information. However, when I go back to write another check to that payee, it didn't memorize it. On top of that, when I try to put the payee information back in, it says the payee is a duplicate. However, the payee is not showing up anywhere. Please Help.

    Please clarify: Are you referring to the payees in the Memorized Payee List or the payees in the Online Payee List?
