I did a quote update and the Quicken quote shows $172.69 as of 4/21/2024, however the stock is now at 165.00. That was the closing price a week ago. Why is the quote wrong even after updating?

It appears that you have downloaded a quote for AAPL today, Sunday 4/21.

What edition (Deluxe, Premier, etc) of Quicken are you running?

If you are running Premier and up, please go to Edit > Preferences > Investment and un-check the Real time quotes box if is checked. This sometimes causes quotes from off-hours trading to be downloaded, which you probably do not want.

In the Security Detail view for AAPL, click on More then Edit Price history. Delete the entry for 4/21, then click on Update to refresh the quotes. Does that fix it?

[update] Another possibility is that the quote dated today was downloaded from your broker or was entered manually. 172.69 was the closing price for 4/15. Did you do a One-Step Update or enter any transactions for Apple today?
