I cannot add my Scotiabank account to Quicken.
I keep getting this error.
I've waited the 24 hours and now Im wondering if I'm chosing the wrong institution or is the service not great with Scotiabank.
When I try to import a .qfx file, i get this error..
I've issused a ticket for a refund because the only reason I wanted to use quicken was to add my bank account to it.

There is currently a bug in Quicken Windows Canadian that isn't allowing importing of QFX files.

Hello @pdett,
Due to the length of time that you have been experiencing a CC-501 error with Scotiabank, I suggest contacting Quicken Support directly as an escalation may be in order.
The Quicken Support phone number can be found through this link here. Phone support is available from 5:00 am PT to 5:00 pm PT, Monday through Friday.
Thanks!

Judging by other users experiences with the same issue it doesn't seem hopeful. I'm seeing a lot of, Quicken told me it was Scotiabank and Scotiabank told me it was Quicken. I'll absolutely phone tomorrow but I'm fully expecting this response. I honestly think a refund would be the better way to proceed.

@Quicken Jasmine I hope that Quicken Inc is aware of the fact that this a "known problem".
This is in fact, the same problem that Quicken Windows US had, but then got a patch to fix it. Quicken Windows Canadian has yet to get that patch. From the US thread on this, with some Canadian users mixed in:

Oof. I wish I had known before I purchased.

Some incorrect advice has been provided in this thread and it has gone down a proverbial rabbit hole. The OP is attempting to set up Express Web Connect for Scotia McLeod and Quicken does not support an EWC connection to Scotia McLeod. Quicken does support an EWC connection to ScotiaBank and Quicken does support Web Connect to Scotia McLeod, but the combination shown in the screen shots is simply not supported. See the excerpt below from the FIDIR.TXT.

If the OP is trying to connect to Scotia McLeod then they need to use Web Connect instead of Express Web Connect.

Hello @Chris_QPW,
Thank you for sharing. I will look into the CTP on this.

Based on the FIDIR.TXT, Scotia McLeod should not even show up in the list of financial institutions for which one can enable EWC. The FIDIR.TXT says Scotia McLeod is only Web Connect, but it is appearing as an EWC option in the screenshot. Regardless, I believe the OP is actually wanting to connect to Scotia Bank, which is different from Scotia McLeod.

Note that my comment is about the importing of the QFX file.
Yes, the original attempt to login in was for the wrong financial institution. And yes, if the right one was picked maybe that would have setup an Express Web Connect connection. Sorry, if I confused the issue.
The problem I was referring to is the importing of the QFX file, this is the one that was in Quicken US and a patch was issued to fix it, but the Canadian version has yet to get it. The QFX file isn't dependent on that original login screen in Quicken, it has the financial institution information in it and should have imported correctly, but it isn't.

…and, I actually missed the bit about the QFX import… there appears to be a few things not working properly here. I don't do business with any of the Scotia bank entities, so I can't test this.

I am also having a similar issue, in that I am unable to have Quicken retrieve my Scotiabank credit card and bank account data directly. I am using Quicken Classic Deluxe V R56.9 Build 27.1.56.9, Edition Canada on Windows 10 Home.
The steps I take are:
I go in to add an account. I type in Scotiabank, and Scotiabank appears as a "Best Result". (see below for screengrabs)
I select "Scotiabank", and then I get a message saying that a notification has been sent to my Scotiabank App. However, I am not receiving any notifications about this (either via my scotiabank app on when I login on my computer). I get other Scotia notifications via my app and/or in my e-mail, so selection of notification preferneces do not seem to be the issue.
Since I see no notifications, I use hte dropdown arrow to select 'done'.
I then get a CC-502 error saying Quicken cannot connect because the Scotiabank website is unavailable (today is Sunday evening, and I have having this issue since Thursday or Friday). I do not think this is the case, because I have been on hte Scotiabank website and completed banking on there several times this weekend, including this evening.
When I go to advance options, I confirm I am trying to use Express Web Connect. While I am able to go into my online Scotiabank Account, download the data for my banking and credit accounts individually and bring them in, that is not ideal for me. And based on what I have seen, retriving directly is an available feature.
During a couple of other attempts, I did receive different error messages. One was that there was a pop-up being blocked (those settings are not longer in place), and something to the effect of 'its not them, it's us'. But I forget the exact wording.
I have not reached out to Scotia, as I reckon this is a Quicken issue.
Any insights or suggestions?
Thanks!
