Help with Apple Pay Payee Names

My kids use Apple Pay all the time - anything from food to vending machines to entertainment. It all downloads as AplPay with a long string of (sometimes) unintelligible letters/numbers. Is there any way to fix this?

Can show us what kind of "AplPay with a long string of (sometimes) unintelligible letters/numbers" you are receiving? A few examples would be helpful.

The Mac experts in this Community might be able to show you how to rename a downloaded payee name string into something more palatable.
