How do I recover an old password?

Options

Trying to open an old Quicken file (2012) and I don't remember the password. When I click on "forgot password" and follow the prompts, I get the following response: "Quicken was unable to determine your Quicken identification. Please check your information and try again." What do I do now?

You can try calling Quicken Support to see if they can provide some help. But support for Quicken 2012 was discontinued back in 2015 when Intuit still owned Quicken. The "Quicken identification" that was being looked for is your old Intuit ID and since the Intuit servers for Quicken have long ago been shut down (since 2016) it is not likely that you will be able to recover it. But if anyone can help on this, it will be Quicken Support: https://www.quicken.com/support#contact-support .

Before you call Quicken Support, you might want to read the following Support Article. At a minimum you should have the required information available before calling.: https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-assisted-password-removal-service .
