InTouch Accounts Missing on Update list

Options

My Credit Union (InTouch) recently went through a significant platform conversion and after a lot of back and forth I think I finally got all my accounts converted and recognized by Quicken. As part of this conversion we had to switch our connection method to Web Connect. Again, I went through their process and believe I have everything set up properly (according to my Online Services tab in Quicken's Account List). My Account List shows each account with download enabled using Web Connect. The problem I now have is that even though each account appears to be properly enabled for download, when I go to the Update Process screen, none of these InTouch Accounts appear in the Update list or in the Update Settings list. All my other accounts work properly. Any thoughts or ideas how to resolve this issue?

If I may chime in here …

Looking at the list of financial institutions it appears that InTouch no longer supports Express Web Connect or Direct Connect downloading via One Step Update.

    • 69609 69609 69609 InTouch Credit Union CC https://www.itcu.org/ NA https://www.itcu.org/ ACTIVE CREDIT&WEB-CONNECT NOT_QBP NA

Their respective entries are missing the required codes.

So, as far as I can tell, downloading a QFX file from the bank's website is the only method available.

Web Connect connections mean that you go to the financial institution's website and manually download a Web Connect .QFX file and then import it into Quicken. This does not happen when you do a One Step Update.

Direct Connect and Express Web Connect download methods are the download methods that are done via One Step Update.

Once you have downloaded the .QFX file, you can either click on the downloaded file when the browser indicates that it has been downloaded or go to your download folder and double click on the file to trigger the import. You can also do the import by going thru the File menu in Quicken.

Hi Splasher … thank you for your reply. Does this mean that every time I want to execute my daily transaction download I have to manually execute a .QFX download from my Credit Union then import into Quicken? Seems awfully inefficient and time consuming. Again thanks for your information.

Thanks folks…I was afraid of that. I guess I'm going have to have a "come to Jesus" discussion with InTouch. Hard to believe they would make such an unfriendly choice that will probably impact a lot of their base. Thanks again for your input. I'd be interested in others that have this same issue.

Personally, I have a total of 28 accounts in Quicken. Five are Direct Connect (investment), the rest are all Web Connect. I don't like the idea of my financial data being aggregated by Quicken's aggregation service (Intuit) and having it stored on their servers awaiting my One Step Update request, so I avoid the Express Web Connect download connections like the plague since they seem to be prone to having issues. That is strictly a personal opinion, lots of other users (the majority probably) don't mind.

Some of the accounts (8) are CDs which only require attention once a month, some are specific store credit cards so they don't get that much action. Once you get used to the sequence to do the download and import, it really isn't much of a bother especially since the Web Connect downloads rarely have issues whereas the Express Web Connect are messed up quite often, just look in the Alerts area of this forum for proof of that.

Bottom line for me is that it really isn't much of an issue doing Web Connect downloads on a routine basis 4-5 times a week for the more active accounts and they all have alerts setup on the FI's websites to warn of purchase over an established amount.

I believe that "unfriendly choice" was forced upon them by a new Federal Rule to limit or prevent hacking by local or international hackers. A third-party access to bank data, e.g., for access to your bank accounts by Intuit to download transactions for you therefore is now frowned upon unless they can establish a more secure authorization method.

That means, One Step Update as well as Bank Bill Pay or Quick Pay thru Quicken Bill Manager are now living on borrowed time.

Perhaps, but InTouch has never been on the bleeding edge of technology (data security) and the other connection methods seem to be fine for Citibank, USAA Federal Savings Bank and Wells Fargo. Hardly shrinking violets when it comes to data security. Maybe as you say they are on borrowed time also. Thanks for the explanation.
