My display has change. How do I get my old display back again?
At present I have 39 transactions visible in my display. That is far too many and far more than I used to have I believe. Not sure what changed exactly. Can anyone perhaps give me a clue?

To change to 2 line display, go to the register you want to change and select "Account Actions". Then enable Two-line display. Or there is a shortcut (Ctrl + 2) which toggles the setting. This only works for non-investment accounts.
To change the setting for investment accounts you have to go to Preferences > Investment transactions and select Two line.I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

Click on the gear at the top right of the account. Select "Register row height spacing" to set the space between rows. In a banking account, you can also toggle between 1 and 2-line display modes.

Jim I appreciate the reply. But again I am confused. You state to click on the gear at the top right of the account. I do not have a gear on the top right. Why or when should I be getting the gear? Would that be when I am in Quicken or something else?

What are you displaying? Is it an Account register or a report or ? Can you post a screenshot of the top showing the column headers, etc. If you are in an individual account register there should be 2 gear icons on the top right. Try clicking on a single account in the side bar. Not one of the group headings.

Know you are trying to help. But totally confused as we are not on the same plate. I am looking at the Quicken 10 program register. I feel with the gearshift showing for you that you must be in Windows perhaps. Do not understand the connection between the downloaded Quicken program and Windows. Perhaps you can shed some light herea because I am totally in the dark. Lee

Are you on a Windows computer? Quicken is just another program on your computer. Which Quicken program do you have? Quicken 10 or Quicken 2010? And what Windows? Like Windows XP, 8, 10 or 11? If you have a very old Quicken program you might need to upgrade to a newer version. You can get Quicken 2013 for free.

yeah - we are all confused about what you are talking about -
What version …… Help —> About Quicken ? Quicken R10.xx is from June 2018 -You say -
At present I have 39 transactions visible in my display.
That is far too many and far more than I used to have I believe.Do you mean the display is now tight, and showing more transactions than you used to see ?
Like - the line spacing is tighter vs wider - thus used to show fewer transactions in the Quicken Register ?
Notice the "gear" in the upper right corner of the Register screen…0 -
Do you have any Filter options at the top? Maybe you had it set just to show transactions for the current month or just this year? What transactions do you want to see? What are the others you don't want showing?

I would like to display at least 1/2 the transactions that are presently being shown. Is there a way to do that?

You need to give us more details so we can help you. What Quicken version do you have? What kind of account, checking or credit card or investment or what? A picture would help a lot. You haven't answered any of the questions we posted.

If I remember correctly before I had a two line transaction entry. Now I have one which would double the entries on the screen etc. How do I obtain the two line entry rather than one line?? I have the older Q10 version. You may not know much about these old versions unfortunately. They did vary a bit.

volvo girl, you did give me an answer when you stated to press ctrl 2. I did that and it gave me a 2 line display. That is what disappeared on me. I am not a computer whiz thus to find answers that are easy to some, I find it very hard. I searched all over the place for an answer. Don't know how you knew about the Ctrl 2 thing. Could also not find Acct Actions in Quicken 10. Not sure I want to update to Quicken 13. Seems like every time they upgraded, it messed up one thing or another and was not necessarily better. Thank you very much for providing me with a solution to my problem.

I assume you have Quicken 2010 (not 10). 2010 is about the same as 2013 so you don't need to upgrade. I always tell people who have versions older than 2010 to at least upgrade to 2013 for free if they don't want to buy the newest version. 2013 is the last good version before they started requiring a Quicken ID and since they went to the subscription model where if you don't renew about 25% of your screen is taken up with an ad to renew. I'm staying on 2013 since I don't download anything.
Hope you are backing up your data file frequently. And you should explore the menus and see all the other available features. What version do you have? Like Deluxe or Premium, etc.

Yes I have 2010. I'm not sure whether I have the Deluxe or Premium version. How can you tell? The program does not seem to indicate anything other than the 2010 version. It has worked well with me over the years. Like a lot of things, new isn't always better. Thanks so much friend.

well…. not sure what your 2010 version might display -
1 - top upper left corner of Quicken screen - display name of Quicken data file AND the version/type of Quicken
2 - entering the menu… Help —> About Quicken …. was asked way back at the beginning -and your Quicken Profile shows… Quicken Mac Other

I don't understand my Quicken Profile which shows Quicken Mac Other. I do not have Mac & never did. As stated, I am not a very capable computer person. I am elderly and was not brought up with computers like the younger generation. I just get by with help from others. Thanks for helping me out. Also I believe there are more Quicken website forums than just one. That is confusing also. Thanks All/Lee
