I have some Payees with multiple "Best Matches", based on memos. How can I remove some of those "Matches? Using MacBook, OS14.4.1, Q7.7.1

Rick, You hit the nail on its head. These are, or were, scheduled transactions. For Peco, I schedule future monthly transactions (which vary in amount) so I have a general Idea about future balances. It is sort of a way to budget. It is "strange that they do not show up under QF Rules. Thank you for your help.

@RickO I assume they're talking about when you manually enter a transaction & start typing in a Payee, and it pops up a list of previous payees that match what you've typed so far with "Best Matches" at the top:

@wjfeeh You can bring up the Payees & Rules window from the Window menu and check the box in the "Hidden" column for any Payees that you don't want to use anymore, and that will stop them from appearing in the list. You can also look for Payees that say "unused" in the Uses column and delete those, but you can't delete any Payees that have a number in that column.

    Thanks for replying. See Screenshot.

These variations do no show in "Payees and Rules". Most of them, I will never use again, but I do not want to delete any old transactions with those Payee Mactches.

@wjfeeh Those suggested matches are all QuickFill rules. Open Payees & Rules, click on the QuickFill Rules tab, and search for PECO. Click the ">" icon next to PECO to show all the rules which exist for this Payee. You can select any or all of these and delete them. Then do #3 in @RickO's post above.

Thanks for the response, sorry for the delay. I do not think that these are "standard" QuickFill rules. When I click QF Rules tab and search for PECO, there is only one Rule. I also followed RickO's directions - same result. There is something strange happening when a memo is added, each time a memo is added. In Settings:Register:QF Rules, Automatic is "Off" , and "Category only" is ON.

Scheduled transaction is set to 12 months. Future transactions do show a Memo. Stay tuned while I play with this Idea later today.
