One Step Update Freezes

I spent about an hour with Quicken CS on chat today. (The AI bot that preceeds the person while on wait is pretty useless, mostly spewing generic solutions from key words in your message).
My OSU seems to be working now. We tried a number of things in my program, none of which worked.
I finally uninstalled Quicken & deleted the Quicken program folder on my computer.
Reinstalled Quicken from a link CS sent me and now seems to be working.
I am running version R55.26 on Windows 10 Home. When I launched this new install, I was prompted to run an update which I did NOT do.
Going to leave it at this for now. Later, if I do update version and have problems I might suspect the software version.
Thanks to everyone for their input & hopefully this helps get some of us back to OSU reliability….

For the people that are totally stuck on this, I would suggest:
NOTE: This will require you to reestablish ALL your FI connections and passwords again so it can be a pain if you have many online enabled accounts
NOT EASY BUT it does do a record by record copy fixing some problems in datafile and also will reestablish online connections specifically for this problem. (Note: I did this to one of my own data files that was taking about 30 minutes to do an update so slightly different but similar situation)File Menu
Copy or Backup
Create a Copy or Template then Next
Leave all the defaults as is BUT CHANGE the new file name (That way you can still have the old file working as it does now)
Click Save Copy and then open the copied file
Reestablish all your online connectionsWhen re-enabling accounts, be aware of the dialogs that come up requiring Link To existing account or ignore as appropriate as you do NOT want to add a new duplicate account. (All accounts are there as they were in original file)
Also, Quicken has a nasty habit (BUG) of changing opening balances randomly when enabling accounts so if balances are wrong when done, look at the opening balance and compare to your original file.
If you know the connection types, DC accounts are most likely not a problem and will be mostly investment accounts.
For all other accounts, I would enable online access ONE Institution at a Time and then do a 1 step update to see results before moving to the next Financial institution.
Post back results

Thanks….I did notice changes in my opening balances & had to do some cleanup.

I have not been able to download for 3 weeks. I did the validate, the super validate, I have cancelled online, added online, turned off pending transactions and pretty much tried everything. Further, when trying to reach any financial institution, the program gets stuck, the circle slowly spins but the task cannot be cancelled and the program cannot be shut down except through the task manager.

This is ridiculous with Quicken, enough is enough. Time to switch to Moneyspire.
