Costco credit card reauthorization shows up as a checking account

I had successfully set up the costco credit card account previously. Quicken wanted to reauthorize and when I do that costco card is showing up as a checking account and won't let me link to my existing costco credit card quicken account. I have 2 credit cards with Citibank, the other account reauthorized without these issues… thanks

    Have you tried deactivating both credit card accounts, then restarted Quicken and, using Tools / Add Account reactivated them (as if adding new cards) using the "Citi Cards" financial institution name?
    This should allow you to correctly LINK both cards to your existing account registers.

    If you still get this issue when doing the Add Account or Set Up Now process: Are some or all of the fields for the account Type, account Nickname or the Action that shows in the popup during the setup process is wrong: Are any of the fields that are shown shaded? If so, try clicking on that shaded field. I have found that sometimes simply clicking on it will allow you to edit it or will sometimes auto-correct it.

    Weird? Sure it is but this has worked for me on several occasions over the last couple of years. Maybe it will work for you, too.

    Thank you @UKR & @Boatnmaniac for your responses. I tried deactivating both accounts. Quit Quicken, installed updates and tried adding online access again. It successfully connects, however issue persists. The first account correctly categorized as a credit card account and I can link to my existing account. The second account shows as "checking" and i cannot change this field. it allows me only to link to my checking accounts. I tried the "add to quicken" pull down item that makes the Type field editable, but unfortunately only with the banking category - i can set this up as a checking or a savings account but not as a credit card account

    I also tried setting up a new account as an "offline account" and then edited account details to setup online access. Goes through the same process of selecting financial institution and when I select the problem card again, same thing happen - it shows up as a checking account. @Boatnmaniac the screen I see is not the same as the screen shot you included.

    Still looking for a way around this :-(

    @Rad77 -

    …the screen I see is not the same as the screen shot you included.

    Which version of Quicken are you running? (Help > About Quicken)

    Would it be possible for you to take a screen shot of what you see? Then save it and click and drag that file to the "Leave a Comment" field so we can see what you are seeing? You can (should) edit the screen shot picture to hide any personal information (such as account numbers) before posting it here. A picture can be worth a 1000 words.
