PNC bank one step checking/savings updates not working

Trying to reconnect to PNC bank for one step update, the PNC screen that you go to to verify your accounts has just said "Service Unavailble" for weeks and weeks now. There is a new login screen for PNC online banking that works fine. Is there a work around for this?

@jimc5011 - I haven't been having any issues (except for 1 day a couple of weeks ago) and I've set up and reconnected my PNC checking and savings accounts a few times in the last month.

Which connection method are you trying to set up? Which Add Account PNC link are you trying to do this with.

PNC indicated to me that you need to have Microsoft Edge as your default browser as Google Chrome had an update that caused this problem If you change your default browser to Microsoft Edge it will start working again.

For a long time after EWC+ was was first introduced and the reauthorization process would not be complete then changing default browsers would sometimes permit the process to complete properly. There did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it and the browser that worked for one person would not work for others. Users were encouraged to randomly change the default browsers until one would work properly. I know, weird. I thought this issue was largely resolved.

FWIW: My default browser is Firefox and I used it to reauthorize PNC for my checking and savings accounts with PNC - Virtual Wallet so you might want to give that a try if Edge doesn't work.

If you are not trying to set up your download connection with PNC - Virtual Wallet please post which Add Account setup link you are trying to use. Selecting the correct setup link for your accounts can be critical.

I have had to reset online banking with PNC almost weekly now. I don't get error, but new transactions don't download. I check my latest online balance using my smartphone app to verifiy this. I have to deactivate my accounts, then sign back up for online services. This will work for a week or two then I have to repeat the process. It gets tedious. Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix?

I did the account reset and mine seems to be working now. We will see how long that lasts.

Dan, same here had to reset again. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Have gone back to just downloading the OFX file from PNC and importing.
