Importing Mortgage as Credit Card

So this is something that has been posted here numerous times over at least the last four years based on the searches that I've done, and the response seems to always be "Too bad, the credit union didn't pre-select the mortgage type for you, there's nothing we can do".

But that's a [removed - vulgarity]

How hard would be, exactly, to let users override the account type in this situation? It seems like Quicken has just completely given up on this, not even trying. "Enter it manually".

Do any of you understand that the entire value proposition of this software is NOT having to enter things manually? So your suggestion is that I keep paying you for a subscription but you don't do any of the work?

Utterly unacceptable that this has been a known issue for YEARS with not even a "we'll get around to it". Mortgages are a HUGE part of personal financial record keeping, this software is utterly failing at being accounting software if it cannot do that.

Downloading into any mortgage is ill-advised since ONLY the principal payments download. NO Interest component and NO Escrow amounts.

Use Q's Mortgage Wizard instead. It's very reliable, once set-up, and finesses your issue completely.
