Reports-Net Worth & Balances, Investment accounts are incorrect
When I create a report showing the investment account balances for the last 12 months, the balances are incorrect. How do I drill down into the accounts and months that are incorrect to identify the problem?

This depends on what you are comparing to when you say the balances are incorrect. If the data in Quicken is consistent internally but wrong compared to the broker's data from statements, please post back for more info. If Quicken's data has internal inconsistencies, the following may help:
Have you backed up your data, then done a File > Validate and repair? Sometimes that fixes this sort of issue.
Make sure the ending dates for the reports are both set to today.
In the past there have been issues with some versions of the reports. Try the built-in reports at Reports > Net Worth & Balances rather than those accessed elsewhere and see if the problem persists.
Click the gear at the top of the Account Bar and make sure it is set to Show current Balance.
If none of the above explains the issue, one thing you can do is to set the ending date for the reports back in time until the error goes away. Click on the gear at the top right of the problem report and select Account detail. This will show the value of each investment in the account. Compare this to the holdings shown by clicking on the Holdings button for the account with the As of date set to the report ending date.
Zero in on the date when it first occurs and look for a transaction on that date that might explain the issue. Often just one account will be affected, so you can narrow your search to that account.
Sometimes deleting and re-entering the suspicious transaction will fix a problem like this.
If a balance is left (sometimes just a few pennies) after the final sale for a security, make sure the Sell all shares in this account box is checked in the Sold transaction.
Be sure to back up your data file before altering historical data, just in case ...
Please post back and let us know what you find.

Thanks for the quick response.
I followed your recommendations and found the problem. When I got to the select Account detail, the problem showed up. I sold a stock in November last year and purchased another for the same dollars. The detailed reports does not show the sale of the stock until March this year. So for those months the total includes the value of both investments. I changed the sale transaction to the correct date and all is correct.
Thanks again.

why did the transaction reflect March vs November ?

I don't know. It was correct in the account. But there was a "correction" transaction that made the account value look correct. In the account the sold stock was not listed in the holdings. So everything looked good. This is the first time I have used the report function and that is when I found the error. Everything looked ok in the accounts but the report showed the error.
