Currently, the "register Category Columns" option is not available in the Investment accounts settings. Can this option be added?

    Correction….

Currently, the "Categories column" option is not available in the Investment accounts settings. Can this option be added?

The ACTION determines the Category for Investment transactions … thus a separate Category column isn't needed.

E.G. All Div transactions get the _DivInc category, same for the various Reinv? actions and the Interest (_IntInc) actions.

I'm using the Fidelity Investment Cash Management account option MySmart Cash which is basically a interest bearing checking account that includes an ATM debit card. The Quicken transaction download includes deposits and withdrawals for this account. Currently, there is a category field available that I am using (which is hidden unless you click on the transaction). It would be nice if there were a Category column (like non Investment accounts currently have) available that allows for which to chose Register columns that you wish to be shown.

I have a Fidelity CMA also. In your taxable brokerage account, do you have "Show Cash in a Checking account" turned on?

    Take a backup and then,
TOOLS, Account List, click EDIT adjacent to the taxable account you're discussing and check that option.

A pseudo-checking account will be created from the cash transactions in the account … and you can use it as you would any other non-investment account.
