Balance not calculating correctly
I priamrily use Quicken to figure out my future balance and it is not working. The final balance is not calculating correctly! The whole programs seems flaky since it no longer allowed me to write checks directly from Quicken.

Without substantially more detail here it's pretty much impossible to offer assistance.
The ability to write checks directly into Quicken and have that information electronically sent to your bank has largely disappeared due to so many banks dropping support for the Direct Connect method of downloading, (a choice that saves the bank money, but makes more work for you), isn't a "Quicken program" problem.
From the sounds of it (it's hard to tell, really), you are entering future dated events -income and expenses - into your check register and I'd fully expect that Quicken can use this information to calculate an ending balance. Can you explain what's not working?
