Can't re-authorize with my Chase checking account- what do I do?

I've had mu Chase checking account set up in Quicken for years, and have been able to download transactions from chase until February of 2024. So I opened Quicken today and saw that I was not getting updated transactions from Chase. Quicken told me that I needed to re-authorize with Chase, I clicked the button and Quicken opened a browser window (Chrome) and I logged into my Chase account successfully.

But the Case window just showed a logo,

and Quicken had an endlessly spinning progress wheel.

I left this spin for 5 hours and no change, no data coming from Chase into Quicken.

WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS???????

Try changing Windows to use a different default browser or try to figure out which port Chrome is blocking.

This just started happening to me with a Chase credit card yesterday evening when I was prompted to reauthorize which did the very same thing as described and shown above. I tried reauthorizing with Firefox, then MS Edge and then Chrome with the exact same results with all 3 browsers.

What's goofy about this is that I have this card set up for download in 2 test files, as well. I was not prompted to reauthorize for this same account in these 2 test files and downloads during OSU continue to work as they should.

This reminds me of all the issues that happened when I was first prompted to change my connection from DC to EWC+ two years ago. It was a painful process back then that took me about 2-3 wks before I was finally able to set up the connection successfully. For me the process back then was to try setting up the connection 2-3 times a day and alternating between these 3 browsers each time….so 6-9 total attempts/day. Then one day with my normal default browser (Firefox) it just connected like it was supposed to. Never did figure out why and after that I've never had an issue reauthorizing this card since then….until last night.

If this issue still exists come Monday (not much happens on weekends) I will do Help > Report a Problem referencing this post thread.

    UPDATE: Success!

I've been trying to reauthorize my Chase connection via Add Account 3X/day in Firefox, Edge and Chrome with the exact same failed results each time.

After failing again this morning with each of these browsers I did the following:

    1. Disabled Windows Defender Firewall: No improvement.
    2. Additionally disabled F-Secure (Spectrum) anti malware: No improvement.
    3. Additionally disabled every single Extension for Firefox: The reauthorization process then completed properly and Chase is once again connected and downloading via EWC+.

So, it appears that one or more of the Extensions may have been interfering with the reauthorization process. I don't know which one(s) was the culprit but there are several security Extensions that I normally have enabled (Windscribe, VPN, Privacy Badger, F-Secure browser protection, McAfee WebAdvisor, Malware Bytes) plus a few others not related to security so I'm thinking at least one of these was causing the problem.

Once reauthorization was completed, I re-enabled everything with no issues encountered.

BTW: I had previously disabled the Apps for these security Extensions thinking that would also disable them in Firefox. I disabled the Extensions when I noticed that they were still functioning and that's when the reauthorization successfully completed. I now know that the security Apps and that at least one browser Extension can and does operate independently of each other.
