Star One (StarOne) CU mortgage account does not show up to link for transaction downloads
Since February 2024, I've been having trouble downloading my mortgage account transactions in StarOne Credit Union. The HELOC, checking, savings, all show up EXCEPT for our mortgage account.
so I was forced to disable just the mortgage account, and try to re-link it to my quicken account. But I can't re-link my mortgage account on my quicken to download, because when I try to enable online transaction download, all my CU accounts are listed EXCEPT the mortgage account.. so there is nothing to link to. I contacted StarOne, and they are puzzled and told me to contact Quicken since "we give them the info, and they repackage to use"
does anyone else have this problem?

I've seen discussions here at the Community which lead me to believe that not all banks support downloading of mortgage account transactions.
You can very easily maintain your Quicken mortgage account register as an Offline account register.
Use the scheduled reminder (created by the Loan setup process) for your monthly mortgage payment to, within Quicken, transfer the principal payment to the mortgage register and categorize the amount of interest to some category like Mortgage:Interest.
If you need to include Escrow in your monthly payment, use the Setup process to add a Split line to transfer the amount to an Escrow account register.
And, if you haven't done so already, I recommend you authorize the bank at their website to make an automatic withdrawal from your checking account to transfer the payment on due date to the mortgage (and escrow) accounts. This way you don't have to remember to do it manually every month and won't ever be late with your payments.0 -
Downloading into a mortgage account is ill-advised anyway, as all that's downloaded is the principal component. Not the interest or any escrow amounts.
Q's Mortgage Wizard, once set up, is very reliable. I've used it for possibly as long as I've used Q.

well, the issue is, mortgage download was working fine until it didn't. and that is around the time Quicken download for many other insitutions went on a fritz (i had to redo fidelity several times over, and others. and at one point it was completely messing up Discover card and discover bank transactions. was incredibly annoying)
i manually split mortgage transaction to principle and interest payment when I accept the download. but I guess I'll just have to keep manually doing this now. HELOC works fine. so it's likely was broken by Quicken. You'd think after forcing us into subscription model, they would have better support of these things instead of keep breaking something that was functional before… sigh.
