Work-Arounds for loss of Microsoft Support for Windows 10
I currently have Quicken Classic Deluxe, having used Quicken for decades. I use Quicken only for household cash management and checking account reconciliation. Microsoft is dropping support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 is not supported by Quicken. So what to do? To stay with Microsoft I will have to purchase a new computer with Windows 11 before October, 2025 [Edited - Corrected Year]. Because I will not be able to install Quicken, I'm thinking about using this old Windows 10. I just tested while completely offline for security and so far it is working for my needs. It put up a fight when I opened up but I just kept closing the nagging dialog until it stopped blocking me. I had no trouble creating a new offline cash account. What surprises me is that Quicken does not urge the potential new customer to check System Requirements. The section "Before you Buy" does not have a direct link to the System Requirements page!

Quicken is supported on Windows 11. I guess you meant that your computer doesn't support Windows 11.
Note that Quicken usually follows Microsoft and might drop support for Windows 10.

Windows 11 supports Quicken just as does Windows 10 (provided S-mode is not enabled). I have been using Win 11 for about 2 yrs now and Quicken works well on it. Where are you getting the idea that it does not?
And there are still a lot of people successfully running Quicken on Win 10.
Here is the Support Article talking about system requirements:
.Some older Win 10 systems (because of hardware) are not able to upgrade to Win 11. Have you checked to see if your system can be upgraded to Win 11?: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-check-if-your-device-meets-windows-11-system-requirements-after-changing-device-hardware-f3bc0aeb-6884-41a1-ab57-88258df6812b .
If you choose to not upgrade to Win 11: Since MS will end support for Win 10 on Oct 14, 2025 [Edited - Corrected Year], it is quite possible that official Quicken support for Win 10 will also end then but Quicken should be able to continue being run on Win 10 for much longer than that.
What version and edition of Quicken are you running? (Help > About Quicken)
What is that "nagging dialog" that you mentioned?

I'm not surprised that you might have seen many dialogues when you're trying to get quicken to run in completely offline mode. Even though they allow it, it isn't as smooth and nice as it should be.
The cut off for support for Windows 10 is quite ways off, but in my opinion it is a dangerous game to try to use Quicken subscription in a totally offline mode. And his basically been that way since the introduction of the Quicken ID in Quicken 2014. You have to be lucky to be able to reinstall even using some of the workarounds. So unless your machine is going to last forever sooner or later you might run into problems.

Just because Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 doesn't mean it will stop operating on that date. It just means that updates will no longer be distributed for the OS, unless you want to pay for continuing OS support. You'll be able to use it albeit, it will become a security risk on the PC that you're running your financial software on. Until Quicken goes through a significant re-write, I would suspect it would continue to operate on Windows 10 for quite some time.
If you're really watching your pennies, I'd continue to use the Windows 10 PC until it finally fails and you're forced to buy a new PC with a current OS.
