Net worth earliest to date shows a really old date

Hello

When I go to the Property & Investing tab, I see the Net worth displayed going back to 1993. I don't recall using Quicken that far back, so I looked at transaction reports out of curiosity. With hidden accounts enabled, I only see transactions dating back to 2000, which sounds right.

Could it be that I have closed accounts with transactions going back to 1993 but do not appear in reports because they're closed? How can I look at those transactions from 1993 to see what account it is/are?

thank you

EDIT - yes, one of my closed accounts has mutual funds bought in May 1993, and others will too. If those accounts are closed, then why does the net worth report show it going back to May 1993, but with a zero balance? Is it to show me that I had worth back then but it's zeroed out because the account is closed?? Weird.

Earliest to date, as the name implies, will start with the oldest transaction in the accounts you have selected. If you have sold those securities or zeroed them out in some other way, their current value will be zero.

If you set an interval for the report, year for example, you should see the value of those securities before you sold them in the earlier columns of the report, if you held them at the end of the period.

If you don't want the closed accounts to be included in the report, you can click on the gear at the top right of the account, select Edit Account details, and on the Display Options tab, mark them Separate.

Or you can customize the report and exclude the old accounts.

Also note that there have been issues with the Account Balances report accessed via the button on the Property & Debt > Net Worth page. For best results, I recommend using the seemingly identical reports accessed via Reports > Net Worth & Balances.
