Split transactions and categories

I have some recurring transactions split between business and personal expenses. Every time Quicken matches a downloaded transaction to one of these manually entered ones, it overrides the splits.

Also, in my categries, the dropdown list of business utilities subcategories only shows one subcategory even when I check "show hidden categories." I have to go to all caegories and laboriously scroll down to find what I want.

    Q doesn't download the splits. Neither Q, nor the bank, have anyway of knowing how you might have split the txn.

    SO, look at your memorized transactions to see if it's one of them that's doing the override.

    RE: subcats. Have you dbl-checked that they're properly located under the parent cat? Because if they're not there, and not hidden, then File corruption has to be suspected. So, have you tried taking a backup and then Validating your data file?

    what does your Category List show …. do you see all your Business Expenses ?
