Quicken support allows you to share your screen so that the ones specialized in the software can assist you in solving the issues. In the screen-sharing session, a Quicken representative can see the computer monitor to better understand the problem. Here's what you should know about Quicken screen-sharing

  • Initiate Contact: Contact Quicken support via the website or phone. As you go through the support process, inform them that you need to screen share the issues you face with them.
  • Generate a Support Code: Once you are connected with the agent, We will guide you through the process of generating a unique support code. This code will be needed for the screen-sharing connection to be established.
  • Grant Screen Sharing Permission: The fact that you are "Generate Support Code" allows the tech support desk representative to look at your screen. One should be aware of the fact that they will watch everything on your screen, so be sure to close any apps that are sensitive and do not write down any passwords.
  • For Mac users running macOS Ventura: One additional step has to be taken. Allow the "Quicken Utility" program to capture video of your monitor. To do so, navigate to System Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording and check "Quicken Utility".
  • Let the Representative Guide You: The Quicken representative will now be taking the wheel, and navigating your screen to try and diagnose the problem. They might request you to perform specific actions within the Quicken application to direct you to the problem.

Just a reminder that you can avoid some of the privacy issues by closing any unnecessary programs on your computer before connecting to this service. In this case, you can ensure data security better by not typing passwords while on the Quicken Share screen with you.

While this is great information, it should be pointed out that the Quicken support rep NEVER has control of the user's computer. They can only observe and move a separate cursor to point where the user needs to click if they need some help knowing where.
