HELP! Quicken Classic Deluxe (on Windows) Opens then Immediately Crashes

Installed update on 7/3. Now Quicken Classic Deluxe (on PC) opens then immediately crashes before I can do anything. Been using on this laptop for years. Anyway to manually install the update? Or "uninstall" the update? Or revert to an earlier version?

HELP!

Was dragging my feet about trying it. Tried to log in today and VOILA there was a NEW update. Downloaded that and we're back in business, without any lost data. Thank God. Appreciate your help!

Perhaps this Alert applies to your situation?: NEW! 7/2/24 Crashing on Windows.

You did not say which version of Quicken you had updated to on 7/3 nor did you say how you had performed the update.

The latest version is R57.16 (the latest version) and that was released on 6/15 and this "Crashing on Windows" is a newer issue than that so I do not think it has anything with the version itself.

But it might have something to do with a bad installation of the version update file and IMO there seems to be more issues updating the version of Quicken when doing that update from inside of Quicken (via the message in the OSU Summary, Help > Check for Updates or when letting Quicken auto-update the version).

You can try any or all of the options you inquired about to see if the issue is resolved:

But if this is an issue that is not related to your installation, then it is perhaps something else that is related to the Alert so maybe none of these installation options will fix it for you.

Let me know if any of these installation steps resolved the issue for your or not.
