Cannot add security in Register or in Security List
Trying to add a new account (Canadian Funds) in my Quicken portfolio. 5 securities in this account
ELC761, ELC762 added no problem. ELC765, ELC766, ELC768, I can search them, find them, Quicken recognizes them but then does not add them to the securities list (and no they are not already there).
In the register for that investment account, I also see the Security item blank and am constantly prompted 'Security cannot be blank' despite going through the same steps to add the security, it recognizes it and then will not add it.

What names are associated with ELC761 and 762?
What names is it trying to put in for 765, 766, and 768?
Quicken can’t have duplicate names? I know you said the funds are not already there, but that doesn’t mean Quicken is seeing them as different funds.
You might try prepending ELCxxx-to the front of the security name as you add each security. That would avoid possible confusion. There may de a character limit as Quicken compares names to see if one already exists.

Attached screenshots for the two steps for ELC 761, I look up the security, it finds it, hit next, you get to the second screen, then hit Done and instead of adding the security, it just goes back to the register and nothing changes. And the security does NOT appear in any security nor watch list

Have you double-checked that ELC761 is NOT already in your list … and just hidden? I fell afoul of that quirk (trying to add, does nothing, not even a warning) not too long ago.

already asked and already answered. yes, I have checked. was NOT in the list. The clue was in the picture below, after I manually add the security because it will not add via lookup, it then complains that the currency does not match
I do to the security list, unhide the security (No idea why the default was hiddne), then see that the default currency was US Dollar, so I change that to Canadian dollar, and then I can go back and re-do the 'Buy' transaction and the security finally shows.
truly not a clean working functionality here. No reason for two of the ELCxxx funds to work fine and the rest to not work at all.

Unbelievable….. So I TWO separate accounts that investing in the same ELCxxx funds. I managed to manually enter the securities, change the currency and then entered all five transactions for the one investment account.
I go to my second investment account, and try to enter a transaction 'bought' then go to the security (in the register), type in ELC, and the dropdown list appears, and I choose ELC761, and I get the spinning wheel of death and hangs there.
this is truly ridiculous
cancel the transaction, the windows will close eventually if I hit the top-right X, close Quicken, re-open quicken, now I seem to be able to enter it the second time
If only the stuff worked the way they promise you it would.
