Vanguard Direct Connect but May Be A Vanguard Issue
I update my Vanguard holdings monthly using Direct Connect. Have done this for years without issue. Today I received the following message. Subsequently I downloaded the same info via CSV and sure enough there are no end of month transactions, just the account info. Anyone else seeing this?

This might well be a job for Official Quicken Support to answer. I don't see any OL-96-A error code when searching the Quicken site.
If you try looking at the log file (Help > Contact Quicken Support > Log Files > OFX Log) is that file even there? And if it is and you look inside it does it have transactions there that support the "update" aspect of the message?

Yes, there is an OFX log file and there are no July transactions.
My usual method is to generate a QFX file from the Vanguard website and import into Quicken. I also have the ability to generate a CSV file. The interesting part - in using the CSV export, If I generate a YTD file or the full month of July the July transactions show up. If I select a portion of July, let's say 07/10 - 07/31, they don't. The reason for the partial month is I already have transactions imported from earlier in July. I do partial months all the time without issue.
At this point I may just import the full month and delete the duplicate transactions as there aren't many. I may consider changing to Express Web Connect but the direct connect has worked just fine and with all the issues recently regarding connection issues using web connect (cc-800 error) I'm reluctant.

Just a note - the full month worked and it ignored the earlier transactions. I thought it would have re-exported the early July transactions. Either it did and Quicken ignored or it's on the Vanguard side. Anyway I'm good now.

I've been using Web Connect with Vanguard for years and its always worked well. Just this past week, it forced me to connect using Direct Connect and now my 401k account balance is twice the amount and with several placeholders listed in the holdings but only one of the placeholder appearing under the placeholder tab. I've recovered and reinstalled a backup twice, but it still does the same with Direct Connect connection. Frustrating!
