Discover card connection setup
Why am I not offered a connection type when I try to setup Discover Card account? I am only displayed a direct connect screen to enter my userid and pw.
I have disconnected my Discover Card link and now trying to reconnect with web based connection.

Discover can only be connected via Express Web Connect (EWC). They discontinued support for Direct Connect (DC) last Oct. EWC and DC download setup screens look the identical.
At the same time they also discontinued support for Web Connect (WC) which is the manual downloading/importing of transactions in a QFX file. So this can no longer be done.
They have not implemented support for Express Web Connect+ (EWC+). This is the method that takes you to the website where you need to log into your online account and then authorize them to download transactions.
The only way to download transactions from Discover at this time is via EWC. However, there was an Alert posted today that the EWC connection is not working properly. Click on the following link to read about it.: NEW 8/16/24 Discover Card - CC-502/FDP-102.
I do not know if this connection issue is affecting only some users or if it is affecting all users. I suggest you try to set up the EWC connection and maybe you will be lucky and establish a good download connection. Otherwise you will need to wait until this connection issue is resolved.

I too am having the 502 issue with Discover and unable to connect. My last download was August 10th.

Started 8/15/24, when I tried my regular connection, quicken deleted my online update and is asking to set up the discover account. Then, it repeatedly says that it can't connect to the discovercard website. Glad to know it isn't just me, but please get this fixed.
