American Express Savings Account Download
I run Win 10 and Quicken Premier . For the past 8 months I have been manually downloading the AMEX Savings transactions from my on line account into Quicken .
I did speak to a AMEX rep back last December and she indicated AMEX would not allow auto downloads for privacy issues.
Has anyone been successful in downloading transactions automatically into Quicken

That's odd that they would tell you that. Last winter they stopped supporting DC and EWC download connection methods but they replaced them with EWC+. EWC+ uses security tokens for downloading, not UserIDs and PWs, so it is pretty secure…definitely more secure than EWC although perhaps not quite as secure as DC.
Have you tried doing Add Account and selecting the American Express financial institution? If not, try doing that. The process will take you to the AMEX website where you will need to log in and authorize AMEX to download account data into Quicken. When prompted, be sure to Link the download to the savings account that already exists in Quicken.
Some suggestions/comments:
- Prior to attempting the download setup process, make sure the account's Opening Balance transaction dollar amount is entered/saved into the Memo field of that transaction. Sometimes when adding or changing a connection the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount gets changed. By taking this step before setting up the connection, it this happens to you, you will be able to easily know what to change that dollar amount back to.
- Back up your data file.
- If the AMEX authorization process does not complete properly, you might want to try temporarily disabling any/all browser extensions/add ons. You can enable them, again, once authorization has been completed. Others have said that temporarily changing the default browser will provide a good authorization process.
- This process might add some duplicate transactions to the register. If after the setup is complete the account balance is incorrect, scroll through the register looking for duplicate transactions. Generally if duplicate transactions are present they will be within the last 90 days. If you find any, keep one and delete the other.
- If the American Express financial institution in Add Account does not work for you, try using American Express - Banking (note that there is a space on both sides of the dash),
Let me know if you were successful or not in getting the download connection set up and working and which financial institution it was that worked for you.
If not, let me know what you experienced (i.e., error code, error message, white screen, etc.).

I am using Quicken Classic for Mac and I am able to download transactions for my AX HYSA. There was a brief period of time whereas downloads stopped. However, no issues at this time.
