Reconciling shares

I have been using Quicken for 20 years. I am on a Windows 11 PC. I have used the "Reconcile shares" option numerous time to find and correct reported shares balances. I encountered a problem today that I haven't seen before. I have an account that no longer is offering this option. In it's place , I get the screen shown on the attachment. I'm sure I have used reconcile shares in this account many times. I have validated my account and closed and reopened Quicken. Any ideas or suggestions about how I fix this?

What Build of Q are you running? And, which Q product. Because I'm still showing "Reconcile Shares" right below "Update Share Balance"

Also, are you showing a register for the account, that shows your investment transactions? I.E, are you using "Complex:" or "Simple" Tracking Method?

    Running latest version.

    I'm running Complete

As I said the option is normally there, but today, it isn't

This is a long shot …but have you tried taking a backup and then Validating your Q data file?

SOME "menu options" aren't hard-coded into the program, but rather stored in files. This MIGHT (but I'm real uncertain) be one.

Do you mean more than the basic validation, which I tried before posting. If so, which options should I choose?
