Why do split transactions not show in "Top Payees"
My monthly rent payment includes both rent & fees. I enter the payment as a split transaction. Consequently , the payment does not show up in the "Top Payees" section of the dashboard. This probably has something to do with how some people treat credit card payments (quicken added a checkbox to exclude transfers). Does anyone know why Quicken decided to exclude split transactions. Another (sic) checkbox would be nice!

My mortgage payment, which has 4 split lines, shows in "Top Payees".

A puzzle??? Other threads on this site pointed me to the "split transaction" cause for missing Top Payees. But, since it does happen with your mortgage payment, I'm at a loss. I wonder what could be causing the problem, if not splits?
Anyway, thanks for your input!

To anyone following this thread: I have 3 Top Payees (TP), call them "A", "K", & "W". I can double click on any and get a 1 line report, which I can expand to get the detail. In addition I can go to "Reports", "Reports & Graph Center", "Spending by Payee" which gives detail and totals. Now I have 3 totals for each of my 3 TP and 2 detail transaction reports. I can compare - they don't match. I'll explain. I have 4 credit cards, call them "a","cu","cs", & "d".
"A" The TP total on the Dashboard did not match to the expanded TP report for "A" or to the Report Center total. The Expanded & Rpt Ctr reports included 2 transactions from another Payee! When I changed the name in the register the TP total increased and matched to the expanded TP rept, but not to the Rpt Ctr Rept. (I hope everyone is lost..If not read on).
"A", "K" & "W" Dashboard TP and TP report totals now matched, but did not equal the Rpt Ctr Payee reports. The credit card transactions for "cs" were missing from all the TP totals for both the Dashboard and Expanded Report. I have no idea how to correct this!
Finally, none of this has any baring on my original problem of split transactions (in my case, BUT not universally) not appearing in the Dashboard TP.
My advice is to take the dashboard Top Payees with a grain of salt…or "Close enough for Government work" [in this case close enough for the Quicken Programmers].
